XA Network, a Singapore-based investment network founded by former Google employees, has expanded to Africa with the launch of XA Africa, which will connect tech founders with seasoned investors.

In a statement, the firm said XA Africa will provide not just capital but also guidance and support needed to scale African tech startups.

XA Africa has already made notable investments in several African startups, including Crop2Cash (Nigeria), BuuPass (Kenya), Kaya (South Africa), and Talamus Health (Ghana).

XA Africa is backed by a trio of tech professionals – Nitin Gajria, former MD of Google Sub-Saharan Africa; Jason Scott, venture capitalist and an architect of the Black Founders Fund at Google; and Marek Dawidowicz, current Marketing Director at YouTube and South African native.

“We see the foray of XA Network into Africa as a natural progression, allowing us to connect amazing founders to experienced and expert operators from the tech industry,” says Gajria, the co-founder of XA Africa.

The XA Network was formed in 2018 and comprises about 150 technologists who served or continue to serve as senior executives in prominent technology firms such as Microsoft, Apple, Google, Grab, GoTo, Amazon, Meta, X, Netflix, LinkedIn, Paypal and many others”

XA has made more than 90 investments across different industries such as mobility, edtech, fintech, proptech, SME tech, travel, etc.

“Our thesis is laser-focused on companies and entrepreneurs solving for or creating a positive impact in Southeast Asia & Africa. We invest from pre-seed to Pre-A,” XA said on its website.
