Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast has reported an 85.5 per cent year-on-year increase in second-quarter revenue to $1.2 billion.
Total revenue increased 32.9% on a quarter-on-quarter basis.
Vehicle sales, which was $1.14 billion and grow 92.7% year-on-year, was driven by volumes in the Vietnam market and contributions from overseas markets such as India, Indonesia and the Philippines.
As of June 30, 2026, VinFast’s share of the Vietnam automotive market was approximately 38%. In Q2 2026, the company claimed to be the largest player in the Philippines, while ranked fifth in India and eighth in Indonesia among battery EV brands.
VinFast sold more than 70,000 electric cars during the period. Markets outside Vietnam accounted for 11% of total deliveries during the quarter.
Its sister company, ride-hailing platform Green SM, which uses VinFast cars, has recently launched services in Los Angeles, marking its entry into North America.
Meanwhile, e-scooter deliveries in Q2 were over 286,000.
“Looking ahead, our priorities remain focused on scaling up our activities in key international markets, including the Philippines, Indonesia and India, while continuing strategic expansion across markets such as the United States and Europe, expanding our product and technology roadmap, and strengthening after-sales capabilities,” said Pham Nhat Quan Anh, CEO and Chairman of VinFast.
The company added that it will strengthen its long-term financial profile through a transition to a more capital-efficient manufacturing model in Vietnam and adding “a complementary earnings stream”.
VinFast is also planning the development of autonomous driving technology, with a pilot of 200 robotaxis in Vietnam in late 2027.
The firm has recently raised a $200-million loan from Italian export credit agency SACE.
