VC investments in Singapore nosedive in 9M 2024

Venture capital investment in Southeast Asia’s financial capital, Singapore, continued to weaken in the third quarter of this year, touching levels not seen in nearly four years, according to data from DealStreetAsia DATA VANTAGE.

The city-state’s startups secured 69 equity funding deals amassing $581 million in Q3—the lowest level since Q4 2020, according to the report SE Asia Deal Review: Q3 2024. Compared to the previous quarter, both metrics declined significantly, with deal count down by 29% and funding value dropping by 37%. On a year-on-year basis, the drop in funding was starker at 63%, while deal volume slid 28%.
