SEC's private fund rules are seismic for the US but have limited impact on Asia

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved a sweeping set of rules last week which will dramatically shift the way private equity (PE) and hedge funds conduct compliance and fund reporting. While this has seismic implications for US private funds, the impact on Asian funds is limited— at least for now.
