Singapore’s state-owned investment firm Temasek Holdings has seen a 2.45 per cent annualised growth in its US equity portfolio, which includes stakes in Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group and American telecom firm CenturyLink, since the fourth quarter of 2014.
The size of Temasek’s US equity portfolio has grown from $9.62 billion in Q4 2014 to $14.26 billion (excluding the unlisted portion of its investments) in Q4 2018.
According to DEALSTREETASIA analysis, some of Temasek’s significant holdings such as CenturyLink Inc and Alibaba Group have turned out mixed performances over the last 17 quarters. While Temasek has reportedly bulked up its holding in CenturyLink, which is seeing a share price slowdown, the investment firm is trimming its stake in Alibaba.
