Meet the speakers
Nakul has over 20 years of experience spanning entrepreneurial, operational and investing activities. He brings relevant investing experience across Climate and Responsible Investment strategies including investing in renewables, climate tech, industrial/ enterprise efficiency, evolving consumer priorities, and related value chains.
Nakul guides LeapFrog’s climate strategy, focussed on supporting pathways out of poverty for emerging consumers that also deliver rapid decarbonisation of all sectors of industry. He is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.
Patrick Walujo, Co-Founder & Co-Managing Partner, Northstar Group; CEO, GoTo Group
Patrick Walujo is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of the Northstar Group. The Northstar Group is a Singapore headquartered private equity firm managing more than $2.5 billion in committed equity capital dedicated to investing in growth companies in Indonesia and to a lesser extent other countries in Southeast Asia.
In June 2023, Walujo took over as the new CEO of GoTo Group as part of the latter’s massive leadership restructuring. As an investor and the helmsman of GoTo, Walujo claimed he has done his best to make GoTo a sustainable and profitable company.
Pandu Sjahrir, Managing Partner, Indies Capital Partners; Founding Partner, AC Ventures; Vice President Director, TBS Energi
Pandu Sjahrir is one of SE Asia’s leading investors in the seed and early growth stages. He is a Managing Partner of Indies Capital, an alternative asset manager in SE Asia, with a focus on Indonesia.
Indies manages Indies Special Opportunities, Indies Pelago Investments, a secondary tech fund, and has a strategic alliance with AC Ventures, an ASEAN focused seed and early stage fund. Indies Capital and AC Ventures have invested in over 100 companies. Pandu also serves as the Director of Toba Bara, a leading publicly listed energy enterprise in Indonesia.
Paul Ong, Partner, Innoven Capital
Paul brings over a decade of experience in corporate debt origination and structuring in Southeast Asia. He joined Innoven Capital to kickstart the SE Asian business in 2016 and has led more than 30 venture debt investments across the region to companies such as Ruangguru, Tiki, Akulaku and eFishery. Paul also has prior operating experience, having co-founded 2 digital media companies.
Patrick Cheung, Founding Partner, ZWC Partners
Patrick is currently the Founding Partner of ZWC Partners, which manages over $2.5 billion AUM across its USD and RMB funds focusing on TMT and consumer sectors in China and SE Asia. Some of his investment track records include Xiaopeng Motors, BOSS Zhipin, Focus Media, GoTo, Yitu Technology, JD Finance, Souche, Horizon Robotics, to name a few. Patrick is also a serial entrepreneur turned investor.
Randolph Hsu, Founder, Ondine Capital
Randolph Hsu is the Co-Founder of Ondine Capital, a venture capital firm that invests in East Asia. Ondine has backed startups in SE Asia such as Carsome, Love Bonito, Dekoruma, Sayurbox, Dropee, Swap Energi, iMotorbike, MetaCRM, and East Asia Super League.
Ondine Capital is looking to back East Asian startups in emerging technology sectors, such as semiconductor/IC, electric vehicles, AI, Internet of Things, and consumer sectors driven by technology innovation.
Donny Zhang, Co-Founder & CEO, YUP
Donny Zhang, the Co-Founder and CEO of YUP, has more than 15 years of working experience in the fintech industry and Southeast Asia. He started his career as a consultant at Accenture. He then joined 360 Group and worked at their corporate venture capital arm managing the fintech segment. Before founding YUP, Zhang was also the CEO of 360 Finance SEA.
Deng Chao, President, HashKey
Deng Chao is the President of HashKey Singapore and CEO of HashKey Capital. HashKey Singapore consists of three business lines – HashKey Capital, HashKey OTC, and HashKey Wealth.
