As e-commerce competition heats up, Sea shifts focus back to growth at all costs

Southeast Asian e-commerce giant Shopee continued to be the main revenue driver for its parent Sea Ltd in the first half of 2023. Hence, as rivalry heats up in the sector with TikTok Shop and Alibaba-backed Lazada, Sea is left with little option but to ramp up investments in its e-commerce division, even if it hurts profits in the near term.
