Net Zero-X launches flagship project

Net Zero-X, a new blockchain exchange for impact investors, has launched in Singapore, per a report in e27. The exchange aims to tackle the significant financing gap impeding the global transition to a net-zero future.

Net Zero-X has launched its flagship project—the world’s first ‘Drive-In Waste Disposal & Energy Recovery Hub’— in the city-state.

The UK-based initiative aims to redirect waste from conventional landfill sites to a state-of-the-art facility, reducing carbon emissions and environmental impact while maximising resource recovery.

By facilitating billions of dollars in financing for projects dedicated to sustainable development, Net Zero-X aims to significantly accelerate the deployment of clean energy technologies and carbon removal projects.

PH-based Packworks raises $60k from govt

Packworks, a B2B marketplace for fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) targeting sari-sari stores in the Philippines, has received $60,000 in research funding from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

These funds, provided via the DOST-Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development Startup Grant Fund Program, will aid Packworks in developing a machine-learning-powered precision marketing model.

The funding will support Packworks’s 1.5 million pesos ($25000) allocation to develop a machine-learning-powered precision marketing model, offering sari-sari stores customised recommendations on sellable items and promotions from its FMCG partners.

In July 2022, Packworks secured $2 million in seed investment led by Fast Group and CVC Capital Partners, with participation from ADB Ventures, Arise, Techstars, and IdeaSpace Foundation.

In the same year, Packworks introduced Sari IQ, a business intelligence tool providing real-time and historical consumer spending data, helping retailers and brands gain insights into sari-sari stores and broaden their customer base.
