Lazard has completed its acquisition of Campbell Lutyens, combining the firms’ private capital advisory businesses under a new platform, Lazard CL, as competition intensifies in fundraising and demand for liquidity solutions grows.

Lazard CL combines the firms’ fundraising and secondary advisory businesses, with the group targeting $500 million in revenue in 2027.

The combined business has more than 300 advisory professionals across 19 offices worldwide. Over the past four decades, the firms have collectively advised on more than $1 trillion in primary capital raised and secondary transaction volume across approximately 1,300 mandates, according to Lazard.

Lazard CL will offer fund placement, primary fundraising, secondary advisory and GP capital advisory services across private equity, private credit, infrastructure and real estate.

The platform’s distribution network connects approximately 4,000 institutional investors, supported by a dedicated team of more than 60 LP distribution professionals.

The combined business also draws on proprietary datasets covering about 100,000 investor sentiment data points and 20,000 fund pricing data points, which Lazard said would support benchmarking, positioning and investor targeting.

The acquisition, announced in April, forms part of Lazard’s broader strategy to expand its advisory capabilities and diversify revenue streams.

Peter Orszag, Lazard’s chairman and chief executive, said the combination would strengthen connectivity between the firm’s advisory businesses and extend its reach across private capital activity and strategic transactions.

Gordon Bajnai and Holcombe Green will serve as co-chief executives of Lazard CL.

Bajnai said the platform would combine Campbell Lutyens’ independent advisory franchise with Lazard’s financial advisory capabilities, while Green said the acquisition would expand Lazard’s existing private capital advisory business, particularly in infrastructure and private credit.
