Indonesian grab-and-go coffee unicorn Kopi Kenangan is set to expand its operations in the Philippines and India in the next few months as part of the firm’s ambitious global expansion plans, a top executive said on Tuesday.
Kopi Kenangan—known as Kenangan Coffee outside Indonesia—will open its first outlet inside SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City, the Philippines, in October this year.
Edward Tirtanata, Kopi Kenangan group CEO and co-founder, said the firm will open at least 10 outlets in the Philippines in the first batch, which will be located in shopping malls.
“Mall culture in the Philippines is very much alive. From SM Group alone, we can tap into 100 malls. Growth in the Philippines is more straightforward,” Tirtanata told reporters.
