FairFax Asia makes takeover offer to privatise Singapore Reinsurance

Fairfax Asia Ltd, a subsidiary of Canadian listed Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd, has made a takeover offer to privatise Singapore Reinsurance Corp Ltd, a general reinsurance underwriter listed in Singapore. 

Fairfax Asia intends to make a voluntary conditional cash offer for all the issued and paid-up ordinary shares in the capital of Singapore Reinsurance for S$0.3535 in cash, according to a regulatory filing dated March 20.

Singapore Reinsurance, incorporated in Singapore on Jan 3,  1973, listed on the Main Board of the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Ltd (SGXST) in 1987.
