Bhanzu raises $16.5m funding led by Epiq Capital and other India deals

Bhanzu, a global math platform founded by world record-holder and the world’s fastest human calculator Neelakantha Bhanu, has raised $16.5 million in its Series B funding round led by Epiq Capital, the firm announced on Monday.

Z3Partners joined the round along with existing investors Lightspeed Ventures and Eight Roads, the startup said in a statement.

The company claims to have achieved 8x growth since its last funding round, positive cash flow, and a strong product-market fit across India, the US, the UK, and the Middle East.

“The US math education market has significant potential, but it is dominated by large, billion-dollar companies that have not innovated their curricula or effectively embraced technology. This gap creates a significant opportunity for Bhanzu to revolutionize math education in the US. Bhanzu’s first-principles approach, strengthened by a robust use case of GenAI in education, aims to make math more intuitive and engaging. We are building Bhanzu in India for the world, with aspirations to become a household name in math education globally,” said Neelakantha Bhanu, Founder and CEO of Bhanzu.

Bhanzu’s curriculum is designed to eliminate math anxiety and build confidence through small, highly interactive group sessions—effectively preparing students for success in STEM fields.
