SE Asian investors stay cautiously optimistic amid Bangladesh protests

What began as protests over a controversial job quota system in Bangladesh has now boiled over into a full-blown civil unrest in the South Asian nation. The government of Sheikh Hasina—who secured a fourth consecutive term as prime minister in January, in an election boycotted by Bangladesh’s main opposition parties—has responded to the agitation with curfews and internet blackouts.
