The mood was grim, on a recent weekday morning at a haemodialysis (HD) centre in the Bukit Merah neighbourhood. The facility, bathed in yellow lighting, at the foot of a block of public housing flats is operated by Singapore’s National Kidney Foundation and provides subsidised treatment for people suffering from kidney failure.
