Meet the ten new speakers

Helen Wong, Managing Partner, AC Ventures

With a career spanning two decades, Helen brings expertise and an extraordinary knack for identifying robust teams and high-potential sectors across China and emerging markets. Her prior experience includes working with internationally acclaimed firms like GGV Capital and Qiming Ventures. Her professional journey began in Silicon Valley before she transitioned to China, and most recently, broadened her influence to Southeast Asia. Her seasoned perspective encompasses multiple investment cycles and companies’ growth trajectories, weathering both highs and lows.


Brian Lim, Partner & Head of Asia and Emerging Markets Investment Teams, Pantheon Ventures

Brian is a Partner and Head of Pantheon’s Asia and Emerging Markets Investment teams and a member of Pantheon’s International Investment Committee. Pantheon is a leading global private equity, infrastructure, real assets and debt fund investor that currently invests on behalf of over 1,000 investors, including public and private pension plans, insurance companies, endowments and foundations. Prior to joining Pantheon, Brian was a Portfolio Director at CDC Group where he helped build their Asia and Emerging Markets portfolio.


Utsav Baijal, Partner & Head of India Private Equity, Apollo

Utsav Baijal is Partner and Head of India Private Equity at Apollo, where he also manages AION Capital Partners, a strategic partnership between Apollo and ICICI Bank that advises on India-focused investments. Utsav has worked on private equity, mezzanine and credit investments across the US and Asian markets. Before joining Apollo in 2008, Utsav was with the private equity team at Bain Capital.


Elizabeth Di Cioccio, Managing Director – Capital Markets, EMEA, Gaw Capital Partners

Elizabeth Di Cioccio is responsible for the capital markets division for the Europe and Middle East region, driving strategic initiatives and fostering key relationships. She markets Gaw Capital’s global products across different asset classes, particularly in infrastructure sector and beyond. With nearly 20 years experience in the financial sector, Di Cioccio previously served as the Head of Middle East and Managing Director at KKR.


Siddharth Jhunjhunwala, Managing Director-Head, Waterfield Fund of Funds

Siddarth comes with a wealth of investing experience across fund and direct investments and has a deep understanding of the PE/VC ecosystem in India. At Waterfield, Siddarth has been instrumental in setting up the Fund-of-Funds platform right from designing the strategy, portfolio construction, fund economics and due diligence processes. Siddarth’s career spans organisations like Asia Alternatives, Aditya Birla and Ernst & Young.


Jamie Lin, Chairman & Partner, AppWorks

Jamie started AppWorks in 2009 and has been a Partner since. He is on a mission to give the Greater Southeast Asia region a big push so we stay on top in the increasingly digitalised and automated 21st-century world. Jamie co-founded his first e-commerce startup, Hotcool, in 1999 and later on, Intumit, Sosauce.com and Muse Games.


Udai Dhawan, Founding Partner & Head of India Private Equity, Affirma Capital

Udai Dhawan is a Founding Partner and the India Head at Affirma Capital, an independent and Asia focused private equity firm with over $3.5 billion in AUM. Udai has over 28 years of financial services experience. Before Affirma Capital, Udai was Managing Director and Head of India for Standard Chartered Private Equity, where he was responsible for building the India franchise.


Mark Munoz, Co-Founder & Managing Partner, Vectr Fintech Partners

Mark is the co-founder and managing partner of Vectr Fintech Partners, an early-stage venture capital firm targeting investment opportunities at the convergence of fintech, deep tech and climate tech. Mark has over two decades of experience leading, advising, and backing technology companies across Asia-Pacific and the US. His notable investments include Accern, Credilinq, Gigacover, Hello Clever, Micro Connect and Paradigm.


Javad Movsoumov, Managing Director, Head of APAC PFG, UBS

Javad Movsoumov is the Managing Director and Head of APAC at UBS Private Funds Group (PFG) in Singapore. Established in 1998, UBS PFG is a global placement agent, focused on private equity, venture, growth equity, energy, private debt, infrastructure, real estate funds and single asset fundraises. Movsoumov, who joined UBS PFG in 2011, has 23 years of private equity fundraising experience.


Abhishek Sharman, Founder & Managing Director, Carpediem Capital

Abhishek Sharman has over 17 years of experience in private equity investments in India. He is responsible for driving the overall strategy and investment decisions, while also spearheading fund-raising activities. He is deeply entrenched in the Indian financial services industry and has a track record of sourcing proprietary deals and concluding profitable exits.
