Online art marketplace The Artling, which had recently raised an S$2.5 million Series A investment, and announced its expansion to China via the acquisition of Artshare.com, plans to further enhance its offerings and venture into new destinations such as Thailand and Indonesia. Its founder, Talenia Phua Gajardo, who is a former architect, told this portal that growth would be slow this fiscal as the industry cannot isolate itself and escape from the current volatility that is plaguing the global consumer market. “For us, the question will be; how do we get the best and the most inventory the fastest, and how can we acquire new customers in a smart way without having to ‘buy’ them,” she said.
