The Pearson Affordable Learning Fund’s recent $2.2 million investment in Indonesian online education service HarukaEdu comes at a time when edtech investment across the world is stagnant, according to information from venture capital database CB Insights. Education technology startups faced a difficult investment environment, which saw deal volumes decreased to a four-year low in Q1 2016. However, there was a recovery in Q2 2016 and stabilisation in Q3 2016.
