Global initial public offering (IPO) activity slowed significantly in Q1 2016 with a total of 167 issues raising just $12.1 billion, according to the quarterly EY Global IPO Trends: 2016 1Q. With a 39 per cent drop in volume and a sharp 70 per cent decline in capital raised compared with the same period last year, this performance represents the weakest first quarter since 2009.
