Angel investment is offensive investing, and angels should be active in a downturn as it throws up many opportunities, said Cherian Mathew, founder and partner, Firebolt Ventures, in an interaction with DEALSTREETASIA, on the sidelines of LetsInnite conference in Bangalore. He was also of the view that since VCs may cut down on investments during a downturn, it would in turn help angels. The US-based VC executive, who had done stints with Draper Associates and August Capital, said that investors who were looking at India on a long-term basis, and had placed bets on leading companies in their respective sectors, were in line to make good returns on their investments.
