Meet the 10 new speakers

1. Celia Yan, Managing Director, Head of APAC Private Credit, BlackRock

Celia Yan, Managing Director, is the Head of APAC Private Credit within BlackRock’s Private Debt platform and is the Lead Portfolio Manager of BlackRock’s APAC Private Credit funds and Chair of the Investment Committee. She is responsible for leading the platform, originating and executing investment opportunities, leading the investment process, and maintaining relationships with key deal sources and intermediaries across APAC. She is a member of BlackRock’s Private Debt Executive Committee. Before joining BlackRock in 2020, Yan was the Head of Greater China with ADM Capital.

 

 2. Prashant Kumar, Partner & Head of Southeast Asia Private Equity, KKR

Prashant Kumar (Singapore) joined KKR in 2018 and is a Partner. He is the head of the SE Asia Private Equity team. Kumar has led a number of the firm’s investments, including Max Healthcare, JB Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals, Vini Cosmetics, and Advanta India. Before joining KKR, Kumar was a director and member of the investment committee at ChrysCapital, a leading India-focused private equity fund.

 

3. Fatima Almubbad, Regional Director – SE Asia, APAC and Taiwan, Bahrain Economic Development Board

Fatima has over 15 years of experience in various international roles (London, Dubai, Taipei, Bangkok and Singapore covering ME and Africa and East Asia) in strategy consulting, inbound and outbound investment and bilateral trade while leveraging on public and private sector partnerships. During her executive career she has achieved average deal sizes between $5-10 million, established over 10 significant PPPs that enabled private sector access and has led ministerial trade and business missions.

 

4. Stéphane Delatte, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer, Keppel Credit

Stéphane is the CEO and CIO of Keppel Credit and provides the strategic leadership and vision for the company. He has been with Keppel Credit since its inception in 2016 and is directly responsible for the day-to-day running of the firm. He has 30 years of experience in private credit, private equity and project financing, including over 25 years of experience in Asia.

Before Keppel Credit, he served as Managing Director in Asia for CLSA Capital Partners for 12 years.

 

5. SJ Lim, Managing Director, Head of Southeast Asia and India Credit, KKR

SJ Lim (Singapore) joined KKR in 2019 and is a Managing Director and Head of Southeast Asia Credit. Before joining KKR, Lim spent 13 years at Credit Suisse where he was responsible for the private financing business in Southeast Asia, India and Australia, which spanned corporate loans, leveraged finance, structure credit and share financing for corporates and ultra-high net worth counterparties.

 

6. Mohamed Al Maani, Private Equity Fund Investments Lead, Oman Investment Authority

Mohamed Al Maani currently leads private equity fund investments for Oman Investment Authority (OIA) in the Asia Pacific.

He officially joined OIA in 2015 as a risk analyst and was most recently promoted to Private Equity Associate to spearhead fund investment activities in Asia.

Mohamed was the former Investment Manager of the Vietnam Oman Investment Company, a joint venture between OIA and the Vietnamese government’s State Capital Investment Corporation.

 

7. Jannie Tsuei, Partner (Singapore Office), TVM Capital Healthcare

Jannie Tsuei is a Partner at TVM Capital Healthcare in the Singapore office with a decade of transaction experience in Southeast Asia.  Before TVM Capital Healthcare, she led Southeast Asia healthcare investment banking at Morgan Stanley, where she drove healthcare coverage, origination, and execution efforts in the region. She also served as Chief Operating Officer of the Southeast Asia investment banking at Morgan Stanley from 2018 to 2020. Jannie has been integrally involved in c. $70b of strategic and capital transactions across North America, Asia-Pacific, and Europe.

 

8. Dmitry Levit, Founder & General Partner, Cento Ventures

Dmitry is the Founder of Cento Ventures, and is responsible for overseeing all investment and fund activities in Southeast Asia.

Dmitry formerly served as an advisor to several investment groups and corporations pursuing technology and media opportunities across developing Asia, with Media Development Authority of Singapore, Singtel, ru-Net, IDG Ventures Vietnam, SUP Media, Livejournal.com, Chinese Founders Fund, VIVA Media and Nusantara Ventures among his clients.

 

9. Louis Nguyen, Chairman and CEO, Saigon Asset Management (SAM)

Louis Nguyen is the Chairman and CEO of Saigon Asset Management (SAM), where he has established a track record in private equity, venture capital, and investment banking. SAM focuses on technology, consumables, education, and real estate. The firm manages Vietnam Equity Holding (VEH) and Vietnam Property Holding (VPH), two multi-asset class funds that have invested in over 65 companies across various industries.

 

10. Henry Zhang, President & Managing Partner, Hermitage Capital

Henry Zhang is the President and Managing Partner of Hermitage Capital, a tech-focused global private equity firm with $1.5 billion in AUM. Henry led Hermitage Capital’s investments into global technology leaders, including large language model companies xAI, Anthropic and Cohere, AI robotics company 1X, autonomous driving solution provider Horizon Robotics, AI smart manufacturing provider SmartMore, AI drug discovery company XTalPi, among others

In Singapore, we are looking to double our reporting team by this year-end to comprehensively cover the fast-moving world of funded startups and VC, PE & M&A deals. We want reporters who can tell our readers what is really happening in these sectors and why it matters to markets, companies and consumers. The ability to write precisely and urgently is crucial for these roles. Ideal candidates must have to ability to work in a collaborative, dynamic, and fast-changing environment. We want our new hires to be digitally savvy and ready to experiment with new forms of storytelling. Most importantly, we are looking for hard-hitting reporters who work well in a team. Collaboration and collegiality are a must.

  • A journalist to track special situations funds, distressed debt and private credit (from the PE angle) across Asia.
