Retail firm Matahari Department Stores (MDS) has increase its ownership in Global E-commerce Indonesia, the parent company of local e-commerce startup MatahariMall.com, for Rp164.9 billion ($12.2 million). Matahari purchased 7.3 billion shares or 3.62 per cent of paid-up capital in GEI, and as the result owns 12 per cent of GEI in total.
