Arta Finance, Co-Axis partner to fund global impact projects

Arta Finance, a US-registered digital family office; and Co-Axis, a Temasek Trust initiative, have announced a partnership to raise $30 million for impact projects over the next two years.

The partnership is designed to support around 100 global projects, including eight specifically curated for Arta’s clientele which includes high-net-worth individuals and family offices. They will now have access to approximately 100 impact projects in over 40 countries through Co-Axis’s digital marketplace, which all align with UN SDGs.

Arta Finance will leverage its platform to offer clients opportunities for both charitable contributions and investments in debt and equity instruments to broaden the range of impact strategies available. Meanwhile, Co-Axis will offer its expertise in the impact sector, collaborating with Arta on educational initiatives such as webinars.

Among the highlighted projects is Wateroam, a Singapore-based social enterprise that’s tackling water accessibility issues with its innovative ROAMfilter Plus — a portable water filtration solution designed for emergency response and remote areas. Another one is Coral Vita, based in Grand Bahama, which is using cutting-edge technology to grow coral up to 50 times faster than nature, helping to restore endangered coral reefs.

Igloo rolls out direct insurance platform in Indonesia

Singapore-based insurtech startup Igloo has officially launched a direct-to-customer platform to serve the Indonesian market.

igloo.co.id provides information on coverage and policies enabling customers to purchase motorcycle, car, pet, and travel insurance from top providers, including Zurich, Sompo, Sinar Mas, and Oona. This insurance starts from 20,000 rupiah to 700,000 rupiah ($1.28-$45).

The platform adds more features, such as Fast Quotes, Buy-Now-Upload Later for document submission, and Claim Support.

Since its soft launch in May 2023, igloo.co.id claims to have attracted nearly 20,000 monthly visitors while also incorporating customer feedback to refine the platform.

This expansion is to support Igloo’s products, including embedded insurance models (B2B2C) and business-to-agent insurance models.

“Igloo.co.id empowers customers to explore, learn about, and select the insurance products that best suit their needs. By doing so, we can address key challenges related to accessibility, affordability and information transparency that have historically hindered insurance adoption in the country,” said Raunak Mehta, co-founder and CEO of Igloo, in a statement.
