AI-powered customer platform Momos bags $10m

Momos, an AI-powered customer platform for multi-location brands globally, has announced raising $10 million in a Series A funding round led by 645 Ventures. Existing investors Alpha Wave Global and Peak XV joined the round alongside new investors, Soma Capital, FJ Labs, Taurus Ventures and Correlation Ventures.

This investment helps the company’s mission to help F&B, retail and other multi-location businesses drive their entire customer lifecycle, all powered by AI.

Founded in 2021 by Sai Alluri and Andrew Liu, Momos’s AI-powered platform offers Customer Service, Customer Experience and Marketing Solutions.

It was inspired by the founders’ experience in their previous company, UberEats and UberFood, where they identified a gap in existing solutions for multi-location customer management.

The firm, which is dual headquartered in Singapore and San Diego, has gained significant traction, serving thousands of businesses globally, including well-known brands like Shake Shack, Baskin Robbins and Guzman y Gomez. It operates in 10 countries across North America, APAC and the Middle East, catering to both local brands with a few outlets and multinational businesses with thousands of locations.

This recent funding round brings Momos’ total capital raised to $17 million. Nnamdi Okike, co-founder and managing partner of 645 Ventures, is joining the board. He brings his decade of experience investing in vertical SaaS, including Squire, LeagueApps and Lunchbox.

Indonesian climate tech startup CarbonEthics raises $2.1m

CarbonEthics, an Indonesian climate tech startup, has raised $2.1 million in funding led by Intudo Ventures and joined by several strategic angel investors. The firm plans to use the funds to enhance its portfolio through carbon project expansion and recruiting technical experts.

This investment marks the second external funding round for the company. Last year, it secured pre-seed funding of $220,000 from Spiral Ventures and Ecoxyztem, a venture builder for climate-tech startups in Indonesia.

CarbonEthics was founded by Bimo Soewadji, Jessica Novia and Innandya Kusumawardhani in May 2019. Through its platform, CarbonEthics integrates environmental and economic aspects to restore natural ecosystems, helping companies and institutions decarbonise and create new sustainable revenue streams.

It strives to transform damaged forests into protected ones by combining grassroots approaches and technology. They collaborate with various partners to develop joint projects to meet climate change mitigation targets, including planning and feasibility studies to implementation and monitoring, which also directly advances social impact by improving the livelihoods of local community partners and enhancing biodiversity.

CarbonEthics offers three solutions—Nature-based carbon projects, Tree Planting, and Carbon Consultation. So far, the firm has partnered with various stakeholders from multinational companies, state-owned enterprises, government agencies, and non-governmental organisations to assist them in decarbonisation efforts. This includes Allianz, Ernst & Young, Danone, Form International, KADIN (Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry) and Transjakarta.

To date, it has completed carbon project pre-feasibility studies for over 4,2 million hectares of land with a carbon project potential of more than 1 million tonnes CO2e/year of verified carbon.

Additionally, CarbonEthics has planted approximately 288,000 biotas—mangroves, seagrass, seaweed and coral. Also, partnered with over 300 businesses and institutions, benefiting 284 local community members, 22% of whom are women.

By 2030, the firm committed to protect and restore 8 million hectares of land, while creating a sustainable economy for over 50,000 beneficiaries from local communities and developing biodiversity.
