Despite showing encouraging signs recently, equity funding in Southeast Asia’s fintech sector has yet to fully recover.
According to the DealStreetAsia DATA VANTAGE report SE Asia Deal Review: Q2 2024, fintech startups in the region raised $521 million in April-June 2024 (Q2 2024), up 62.5% from the previous quarter.
This marks the third consecutive quarter of growth for fintech funding after hitting rock bottom—the lowest in almost four years—in Q3 2023. However, the deal volume in Q2 fell a tad to 38 compared with Q1 2024’s 40 deals.
