Bohai Leasing secures $1b loan from RRJ Capital

Bohai Leasing, a global player in transportation leasing and finance, has reportedly secured a $1-billion loan from Asian private equity firm RRJ Capital to refinance its debt.

According to a Bloomberg report, Bohai Leasing and RRJ inked the private loan agreement recently to refinance the Beijing-based company’s around $2-billion debt which will be due next month.

The private loan has a two-year tenor, with the ability to extend for one year, according to the report. The proceeds will be used to refinance borrowings issued by Global Aircraft Leasing Co., a subsidiary of Bohai Leasing.

RRJ was founded in 2011 by brothers Richard and Charles Ong. Richard is a former Goldman Sachs dealmaker, while Charles is a former chief investment officer of Singapore state investor Temasek Holdings. It runs operations based out of offices in Hong Kong and Singapore.

Princeton Digital acquires Yahoo data centre

Singapore-based data centre operator Princeton Digital Group has announced its acquisition of Yahoo’s data centre in the city-state, SG3, as part of efforts to expand its footprint.

The acquisition will add to PDG’s hyperscale data centre that it already owns and operates in Singapore, per the announcement. Yahoo will continue to host its infrastructure at SG3, with PDG investing further to run the data centre as a third-party operator.

The acquisition comes as PDG secured its first $280-million green loan that will help finance its data centre campus in Malaysia.

Princeton Digital Group was co-founded in 2017 by Rangu Salgame as a data centre operator in Asia. It currently has 20 data centres across five countries. It serves Internet and cloud companies and financial institutions.
