Asia Digest: Japanese agritech firm SECAI MARCHE, Australian GenAI startup Graceview secure funding

SECAI MARCHE has raised a $3.6-million Series A round, while Graceview has raised $1.5 million in funding. 

SECAI MARCHE bags $3.6m Series A funding 

Tokyo-headquartered fresh food supply-chain firm SECAI MARCHE has raised 300 million yen ($2.1 million) in fresh funding, bring its Series A round to 510 million yen ($3.6 million), according to an announcement.

Investors in the new round include Beyond Next Ventures Inc., Spiral Ventures Asia Fund I, L.P., Mitsubishi UFJ Capital Co.,Ltd Investment Department, Future Food Fund, TSUNEISHI CORPORATION CO., LTD., Fukuoka Sonoriku Co.,
Ltd., Toru Yamamoto (CEO of Foodison Co., Ltd.), and others.

The fresh fund will be used to accelerate service expansion to meet the growing needs of F&B customers in Malaysia and Singapore, the company said.

The company claims to have achieved 200% growth each year, offering over 4,000 carefully selected ingredients from producers around the world, including Japan and Malaysia, and providing a one-stop fulfillment service focused on fresh foods such as egg, vegetables, fruit, and seafood.

In 2019, the company launched a Southeast Asian B2B farm-direct e-commerce and fulfillment site that directly connects farmers with restaurant consumers.

Graceview raises $1.5m funding round

Melbourne-based generative AI for compliance startup Graceview has raised $1.5 million in a funding round led by Singapore-based entrepreneur Patrick Linton along with a consortium of tech founders and investors.

The investment will accelerate the commercial rollout of Graceview‘s platform to fuel growth, according to an announcement.

Graceview leverages AI, machine learning, legal knowledge integrations, and data analytics to deliver real-time insights on compliance threats and opportunities.

The platform combines the speed and efficiency of generative AI with senior lawyer oversight to streamline regulatory compliance and to maintain an environment of continuous compliance.
